Overview

River Raid is the classic and innovative vertically scrolling shooter from the eighties where you fly a jet up a heavily guarded river in an attempt to destroy bridges that are vital to the enemy. Here, we have its MSX version running online, on your browser (HTML5).

Along the way, you will need to fly over fuel stations to refuel your jet and keep flying and fighting balloons, ships, choppers, and enemy aircraft trying to stop you. Your ammo is unlimited, though, and can be used to destroy enemy vehicles. bridges and, which might not be desirable, fuel stations.

Note that colliding with the riverbanks or with the enemy aircraft destroys your plane and makes you lose a life.

This MSX port was released in 1984 and supports up to players in the same platform.

Controls

  • Arrow Keys – Move
  • Z or X – Shoots
  • ENTER – Start
  • Attention: These controls are default for the Player 1. Click on the gamepad icon and set controls the way you like it if you want. You can set the keys for the Player 2 the same way.
