Beating Blanka with Ken on Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition

Overview

This video teaches and demonstrates how we can beat Blanka using Ken on Street Fighter II’: Champion Edition, with some notes in text as well.

Blanka is a very quick opponent who easily blocks air, ground, crouch and ranged attacks.

He also uses to jump a lot, and you should explore it, making him do it and then counter with an anti air move as the Shoryuken.

As seen in the video, the easiest way to make him jump is getting close as you can with him on the ground, give some weak punches and, when he jumps, hit him with the anti air move.

Some notes

• Sometimes, he takes long to start jumping and goes after you on the ground. You can block and wait him to attack with something like the Eletric Thunder, which is vulnerable to crouching strong kicks and Hadokens, or the Rolling Thunder, vulnerable to weak punches.
• If you don’t (or can’t) use Shoryukens, the strong kicks and crouching strong punches are also anti-air moves.
• The strategy is the same to beat Blanka at Hack M7 and fits perfectly to be used with Ryu too.
• Also note that it’s not recommended to keep throwing Hadokens at him, unless he is at a long range (or using the Eletric Thunder, of course).
