Well, if you like games, you must know Pac-Man, even if you are very young, you must have heard it somewhere, because it’s landmark in arcade games.
Pac-Man was developed by Namco and licensed for distribution in the United States by Midway, in 1980. It created mass media coverage and became a huge success in USA and worldwide. It’s success is mainly down to its simplicity, gameplay and creating a new genre. At the time, only spaceship shooters existed and some sports games (like Pong).
Also, it was the first game ever to feature its own character, Pac-Man was the first original gaming mascot.
