Overview

This video from the Gaming Room‘s channel, where it was originally published on June 4, 2025, shows the intro, demoplay, first round and an enemy being dismantled and reassembled on Cyborg Justice (Robot Wreckage). For those who are unfamiliar with, Cyborg Justice is a sci-fi beat ‘em up released in 1993 for the Mega Drive/Genesis. It was developed by Appaloosa Interactive (formerly Novotrade International) and published by Sega.

The plot of this with eight-way movement fighting game begins with a spaceship crash on a mining colony. The sole survivor? A human whose brain is transplanted into a cybernetic body — but something goes wrong during the memory wipe. He refuses to follow orders and chooses to fight for his freedom on a hostile planet, facing an army of cyborgs.

The game offers two modes: Arcade, with a solo or cooperative campaign, and Duel, for PvP combat or against the CPU. Over the course of five stages divided into three parts each, the player faces traps, challenging bosses and enemies with constantly changing parts, requiring constant adaptation. The difficulty system ranges from Relaxed to Brutal, and there are mechanics that encourage the strategic use of parts, such as pneumatic legs to jump chasms or heavy legs to resist magnetic traps. The game rewards fast action — anyone who takes too long to advance gets a rocket to the head.

One of Cyborg Justice’s standout features is its customization system. Before starting the action, you can customize the character by choosing between different arms, torsos and legs, totaling up to 216 combinations that directly influence the combat style. During the stages, it is possible to tear off and assimilate parts of defeated enemies — such as special arms, legs and even the torso — to recover energy or gain new abilities.

Reassembling a wrecked cyborg is not only one of Cyborg Justice’s coolest mechanics, but also a way to squeeze out some extra energy. It is shown in the 7:18 minute of the video and, basically, consists of 4 steps:

  1. destroy an enemy until it’s left disassembled on the ground;
  2. land a kick (press and hold A + back) on the debris to reposition it;
  3. crouch (↓ + C) more or less facing the robot’s little legs;
  4. collect the debris: without releasing C, press the down direction toward the debris;
  5. you can also crouch in one motion by already pressing the down direction toward the debris + C. You just need to know the right spot.

It may seem a bit tricky at first, but with a little practice it will start to feel natural. So, you now all set to have your Cyborg Justice! Have fun!
